“Lacking independence or not, they’re* your kid. What do you plan on doing with them? What will you do with your child?

this moment still cinches it for me that despite the madness inside of him, Stein would still make an excellent father. because even when we’re shown time and time again the parallels between Stein and Medusa’s ideologies, you can clearly see in this scene the disgust that Stein feels for Medusa, knowing that she planned on killing Crona now that her experiment on them was finished and deemed unsuccessful.

for all the talk Stein has about not being capable of love, he’s absolutely revolted because of what Medusa is saying, and he feels this way about a child that he’s already defeated in battle and clearly knows is an enemy. he has no obligation to feel sympathy for Crona, who’s killed multiple people and almost murdered one of Stein’s own students, but even Stein can tell that what was done to make Crona what they are is morally wrong. and the thought of a mother murdering her child because she has found no more use for them is just as vile to Stein as it is to Spirit
