after Ed slowly starts to travel less and less as he and Winry get more serious, and by the time their first kid is three he will only go on trips where he’s sure he can be back in a week, or where he can bring his family with him. And every time he leaves he makes sure its this big ordeal where his kids know exactly whats going on- he never wants them to remember him leaving like he remembers Hoenhime leaving.
