reason #520384 the Chaos Walking movie will be bad: in the most dramatic parts of the books the emotional impact is driven home by the first-person narration and todd’s linguistic quirks which bring a fresh take to age-old story beats and it’s not going to translate well into a visual medium. no movie has ever made me feel the way the line “a scream that tears my heart in two forever and ever” made me feel, even though i’ve seen that kind of scene a thousand times.
