Hicretstrid is a big mood all the time
Distracting kisses from someone that are meant to stop the other person from finishing their work, and give them kisses instead.
âWhereâs Hiccup?â
âIsnât he back yet?â
Astrid shook her head. Eret frowned, certain Hiccup had sworn he was leaving the forge in a minute⌠half an hour ago. The very pregnant wife huffed, crossing her arms and eyeing Eret in that way that said he better not dare lie.
âWhere did you see him last?â
âUh⌠the forge?â
He wasnât going to cover for Hiccup; he wanted their chief back home too. Astrid rolled her eyes, already stepping into her outside boots – she had inside ones now, so she could wear them in bed without tracking icy slush in. Wrapping her fur hood around her shoulders, Astrid bade Stormfly and Skullcrusher to stay before dragging Eret out with her in the direction of the forge.
As predicted there was a lean form hunched over the desk. Toothless slept nearby, riding rig and tail fin off and Hiccup was mumbling to himself. His chiefs cloak was slung on its hook half-heartedly, and the air wasnât that warm with the forge not lit. Hiccup was probably freezing, and just hadnât noticed yet. He was good at that.
âHiccup.â
Jumping in clear shock – heâd not heard them come in – Hiccup twisted in his seat, seeing both of them stood there.
âIs it late?â
âYes.â
Hiccupâs mouth twisted in a frown, a few days stubble on his jaw sharpening his features.Â
âI wonât be long. I gotta finish this.â
And with that he turned back to his work, prompting his wife to make a motion Eret worried meant she might throttle him. Patting her hand, Eret had a better idea and gestured with his head for Astrid to follow him. They edged closer, crouching down either side of Hiccup – not enough to jostle his work, and Hiccupâs tight focus seemed to make him barely notice them.
Eret pecked a kiss on his ear. Hiccup rubbed absently at it, side-eyed Eret with a quick smile before green eyes flicked back down to sheets detailing a new prosthetic for his dragon. Eret watched Astrid roll her eyes, dipping her head to press a kiss to Hiccupâs temple. She also got a quick smile before he resumed sketching.
They went for broke, both kissing his scratchy cheek; Astrid took his charcoal and Eret took his parchment as Hiccup squirmed and laughed between them. When he tried to chase them, they kissed his mouth instead, Eret lifting Hiccup from his chair while Astrid attached herself to his front, both still pecking kisses on anywhere they could reach. Standing sandwiched between them, Hiccup let out a fond sigh.
âVery effective.â
âYep. It was Eretâs idea.â
âAs was thisâ Eret hiked a protesting Hiccup up over his shoulder, grinning âAstrid, make sure his work wonât blow away overnight?â
Tidying the pages up and putting Hiccupâs baby axe on as a paperweight, she nodded, nudging Toothless.
âPut me down!â
âNope. Canât be trusted. Gotta take you home.â
From the corner of his eye, he saw Astrid straining up on her toes to silence Hiccupâs complaints with a kiss before they began transporting the reluctant chief home.
âEret.â
âNo.â
âEret!â
âNo!â
âERET!â
âHere we areâ Eret put Hiccup down at the front door of his house ânow that wasnât so bad was it?â
Rolling his eyes, Hiccup pushed open the door with a chuckle as Eret and Astrid high fived before following him in.
