Here’s the rant: I need white people to learn how to do black hair. It’s not even about appropriation or being disrespectful or any of that. Hair stylists go through however many years in cosmetology school. And yet when I try to find a salon, of course most of them here are all white and I get told that they don’t know how to do negro hair(of course they don’t say that but like you get it). That’s like a dude going to culinary school for 4 fucking years and then coming out and saying they don’t know how to make like.. fucking lasagna. Like if you’re going to hair school, shouldn’t they be teaching you EVERYTHING?? Not just how to do caucasian or caucasian-like hair.. shouldn’t they be learning all the textures, all the curls, all the damage.

It’d be pretty fucking dope if I could just go into ANY salon and say I want a certain style and no matter the bitch, they’ll do it without a problem. Y’know instead of driving to another side of town or an entirely different city just to get a haircut.
