did you know my TRC three men and a baby au is my funnest thing to write? bc i get to write things like this
“She’s about…..yea big?” Gansey says, holding his hands
apart in a vaguely baby-ish length. Blue doesn’t look impressed by this standard
of age measurement.“Come on, Gansey. You’re babysitting a child and you don’t
even know how old she is?”Her skepticism is totally legitimate under the circumstances,
but being visibly inadequate at something has never been one of Gansey’s strong
suits, especially when his ignorance on the subject is completely justified. It’s
not like Gansey knew he was going to
be taking care of an infant today. Possibly the next couple days. Possibly longer. The future of this arrangement is becoming more and more
daunting the longer Gansey thinks about it.He hadn’t even realized Blue left his side until she’s returning,
holding a small loaf of some raisin-loaded specialty bread and a regular-sized
loaf of whole wheat.“Is the baby more this-sized—“
she says, holding up the raisin loaf “—or this one?” She holds the two loaves
of bread out for Gansey to scan briefly. He’d only had a short encounter with
the baby, staring at her inside of her lace-and-silk bassinette, but he’s
fairly certain that the raisin loaf looks too small to be Opal. He points to
the wheat bread confidently.Blue rolls her eyes, even though she is the one who chose this comparison, and tosses the wheat loaf
into Gansey’s cart. “Okay, well at least now I know she’s not a newborn. We’ll
start there.”and things like this
“No!” Gansey says. “No, you have to know that—”
“I clearly don’t know anything
about you two! I started this day babysitting an infant and ended it being bound and gagged while some lunatics
raided your house for your HEROIN SUPPLY!”“This has all been a big misunderstanding!” Gansey tries to
tell her, but Blue isn’t having any of it.All of Blue’s pacifistic sensibility has been forgotten as
she shoves Gansey hard in the chest. “I could have been killed, asshole! Do you get that? You put me in danger, you put
that baby in danger, and you want to talk to me about misunderstanding?”The look on Gansey’s face—Adam can hardly bare it. He can
see how torn he is, how he wants to explain everything to her, but also how right she is. Blue could have died
today, and it would have been their fault.“What? You have nothing else to say?” Blue’s still looking
for confrontation, but she’s not going to find it from Gansey, and Adam’s still
too wired to defend them properly. The ragged cut going down her face seems to
only get bigger the longer he stares at it.She looks between them, the pent-up emotions she’s holding
in still threatening to shake her apart. “You know what? Fine. I’m done with
this. You two have more problems than I can even begin to sort through.” She
marches toward the elevator, covered in blood and defiant nonetheless. As she
enters through the double doors she looks back at them once more. “And the next
time you think about calling and asking for a favor? Don’t.”in the SAME DOC!!! i can just switch back and forth between dumb baby shenanigans and Kavinksy’s thugs raiding Monmouth and no one can stop me!! WHAT A POWER TRIP
